Hey folks, just I could share this- check out-

http://www.afrinic.net/news/BOD09.htm

It means am now sitting on the AfriNIC board, if you are in Africa and need IP addresses - whether ver 4 or ver 6 - you still need to talk to me :-).

Below was my reaction to some publisher but I have to add - it all started @Diplo in 2005 when I got enrolled onto their IG course.
~~~
I was recently elected to sit on the AfriNIC board representing East African Region. AfriNIC is the regional (African) administrator for Internet Resources (IP Number Allocation and Assignments) on behalf of ICANN (http://www.icann.org/ ) the global body in charge of Internet Resources.
As a Board member I would be occasionaly called upon to oversee the Policy direction for the efficient distribution and management of IP resources in Africa. I think this would give me an opportunity to see and influence how the Internet continues to evolve and operate . In addition, I believe the appointment would implicitly place the Faculty of IT and by extension, Multimedia University College of Kenya on the "African Radar" when it comes to Internet related issue i.e. it will significantly raise the visibility and profile of the newly established Multimedia University College.
~~~
regards.
