Debido a que el campo de la gobernanza de Internet está en constante evolución, este libro es una publicación viva. Como tal, el libro ha desencadenado un conocimiento interesante perpetuum mobile. Doce años después de la publicación de la primera edición, la séptima iteración trae actualizaciones sobre nuevos temas que han ganado prominencia en los recientes debates sobre la gobernanza de Internet, desde las preocupaciones éticas surgidas por los avances en el campo de Internet de las Cosas e Inteligencia Artificial, hasta la transición de la administración de las funciones de la IANA del gobierno de los Estados Unidos a la comunidad mundial de múltiples partes interesadas.

Una Introducción a la Gobernanza de Internet es el texto base para numerosos cursos de GI en todo el mundo, y un valioso recurso para aquellos de nosotros que trabajamos en GI. The 7th edition of An Introduction to Internet Governance was launched in hard and soft versions at the IGF 2016 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Even more exciting, this edition (with support from ICANN and LACTLD) is also available in Spanish! An updated version of the Acronym Glossary is now also available in Spanish.

Because the field of Internet governance is continuously evolving, this book is a living publication. As such, the IG book has triggered an interesting knowledge perpetuum mobile. Twelve years after the publication of the first edition, the seventh iteration brings in updates on new topics that have gained prominence in recent Internet governance debates, from ethical concerns raised by advancements in the field of the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence, to the transition of the IANA functions stewardship from the US government to the global multistakeholder community.

An Introduction to Internet Governance is the foundation text for numerous courses throughout the world, and a valuable resource for those of us who work in IG. The book is also the basis for the GIP Digital Watch observatory, where you can find the latest updates on digital policy.  It is available for free under a Creative Commons license.
