I wish I could attend in person and be Diplo's ambassador/mentor to participants wishing to join Diplo courses. I have registered for the IGF, but still seeking sponsorship for the event.
To follow on from Ginger's post -
the clock is ticking. Only 27 days and a few hours to go before the next IGF in Bali.
Some of you will be there too
Can we show the positive side of the commitment and trust that can be built up on the Internet?
The Diplo delegation this year is very small, and there are many things that need to be done.
Ginger has offered to draw up an “online signup sheet”. We hope that some of you will be willing to donate a little of your time to help with manning/womanning the Diplo booth. And of course we expect that we will see you at the Diplo “events” - see Ginger's post for details. And tell us which workshops you will be involved in so that we can lend you our support as far as possible.
Looking forward to seeing you in Bali, in person or online.
Thanks Ginger for the initiative!
While I am still not sure if I will finally be in Bali, I am preparing as if I will be :)
There are several "tracks" in which I will likely be engaged:
- Capacity building pre-event on Day 0 (more details should be available on the IGF web soon) - I invite all that are newcomers or wish to network with other newcomers to join, it will be an interesting "community building" exercise with lots of group work
- Orientation sessions on each day morning - mapping IG from all the aspects (diplomacy, topics, actors) to help newcommers participate more easily and understand IG holistically - again I invite all of you that will be in Bali to join (both as listeners and contributors as it will be very interactive and amusing :)
- All Diplo events listed above, of course! And more - hopefully again some Diplo-folks-driven-party :)
