Those who are following the preparations for the Latin America and Caribbean Regional IGF (and if you are not, you should be) will be interested to read the July issue of the LACNIC newsletter (Spanish) (Portuguese). Diplo tutor, and MAG and ALAC member Fatima Cambronero has pointed out some topics that are particularly important for the region, and will likely be discussed in the August meeting.
The LAC IGF preparatory process has made a strong effort to include community topics in the agenda. Do you agree with Fatima's suggestions for important issues? Challenge her on her positions--now is the time to generate discussion and provide concrete feedback to the process. Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the least-represented regions in IG global policy processes--let's change that. I have been a bit out of the picture for the last few months--tell me/us what you think. What's important? What am I missing? What's going on?
If you are not from LAC, what is your region doing (WAIGF?)... how is it it different or similar to what is important for LAC? I look forward to reading your comments. Happy days, Ginger
