DiploFoundation, in conjunction with the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), is currently conducting an online course in Internet Governance for 31 participants in India.

The group includes professionals involved in the organization of the 3rd United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) to be held in Hyderabad, India from December 3 to 6. This year, as the IGF host country, India will focus more than ever on Internet Governance, and this course will prepare actors for involvement in ongoing Internet Governance policy processes, including the IGF, and regional and global debates and follow-up meetings.

The two-month long course will present various Internet Governance issues such as management of Internet domains, cyber-security, privacy, e-commerce and legal aspects, but also emphasizes such skills as involvement in international Internet Governance policy-making processes and community-building.

Ginger Paque (IGCBP'06) is the coordinator of the initiative and Stephanie Psaila (IGCBP'05) and Priyanthi Daluwatte (IGCBP'06) are the tutors of the two groups that were formed. Further information can be obtained with Ginger: VirginiaP [at] diplomacy.edu
