Marília Maciel @ the 73rd ILA Conference, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Diplo Associate Marília Maciel has given a lecture in the 73rd International Law Association Conference, which took place from 17 to 21 August in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

The theme of the panel was "The Role of Civil Society in the International Regulation Process: ICANN as a case study" and the title of her presentation was "The role of civil society in regulation: a brief comparative study between ICANN and the process of regional European integration".

The panel began with a theoretical approach of the role of civil society in the International Law field, made by the Brazilian lawyer Regina Ribeiro do Valle. Afterwards, Marília discussed the importance of ICANN and how the different stakeholders get involved in the organization decision-making process.
