Is Wikipedia "coming of age"?

“We are no longer at the point that it is acceptable to throw things at the wall and see what sticks,” said Michael Snow, a lawyer in Seattle who is the chairman of the Wikimedia board. “There was a time probably when the community was more forgiving of things that were inaccurate or fudged in some fashion — whether simply misunderstood or an author had some ax to grind. I have been talking to many different folks who got funding to attend different events and I'm surprised that so many people do not know this simple principle: the full cup v. the empty cup.

IGF Open Consultations Video Archive now available without the need to use a browser plugin

Thanks to the last update of the LSCube Theater software, people having Safari4 for Mac or Firefox 3.5 for any platform will now be able to see the IGF Open Consultations video archive without having to use VLC, Flash or any other browser plugin. You can see all the videos here: http://media.lscube.org/IGF/.

People with older versions or IE will be required to use VLC just as before.

The power of e-collaboration....

Different steps need to be taken when implementing and designing an initiative about e-collaboration through the use of web 2.0 tools. Choosing the right web 2.0 tool can be very stressful, especially, when you have different projects. How can we enssure that we deliver what people want and that everyone has a clear picture of what is involved. We shouldn’t simply add web 2.0 tools or other features simply because they are available or free....any thoughts??
