Diplo fellows @ IGF 2007

DiploFoundation highlights of the Diplo Fellows in the IGF Rio 2007.

In the Emerging Issues session, Marília Maciel (Brazil, Diplo 2007) proposes higher inclusion of Youth representatives in the IGF process and further online participation mechanisms. The outcome of this intervention is the creation of a Diplo Internet Governance Community portal and also the successful negotiation and implementation of hubs for remote participation.

In the same video, Sheraan Amod (South Africa, 2008) confronts the ideas of panelist Andrew Keen (author of The Cult of the Amateur) presenting his perspective from the new generation of users. As a follow up, Sheraan became a focal point for social networking at Diplo and had an important role in the creation of the www.DiploInternetGovernance.org portal.
