RÉSUMÉ

Cette semaine, le secrétaire général de l'ONU, Antonio Guterres, a condamné mercredi le récent rassemblement de la "Suprématie Blanche" aux États-Unis. Au passage, il déclare: «L'Internet et les médias sociaux sont remplis de discours de haine et d'images antisémites. Et nous entendons de nos jours,dans les rues des sociétés démocratiques la répétition de certains des plus vifs chants et accusations nazis ...En plus,Stormfront, le plus ancien site nationaliste néo-nazi sur l'internet anglophone a été bloqué.
En ce qui concerne la cyber-géopolitique, l'Inde et l'Union européenne ont souligné la nécessité d'approfondir les actions sur l'applicabilité du droit international au cyberespace et de définir des normes de comportement responsable des États lors du quatrième dialogue cybernétique Inde-UE à New Delhi mardi. En outre; L'Inde et le Japon ont décidé de renforcer leur collaboration dans le domaine du cyberespace et ont confirmé leur engagement envers un cyberespace ouvert, sûr et accessible, permettant la croissance économique et l'innovation,
En ce qui concerne la liberté d'expression, selon l'Administration de la cyberespace de Chine, des sites comme les réseaux sociaux et les forums de discussion devront vérifier l'identité réelle des utilisateurs enregistrés avant qu'ils ne puissent publier quoi que ce soit sur leurs plates-formes. Au demeurant, des milliers de russes ont protesté contre les restrictions à l'utilisation d'Internet selon les agences de presse. En Inde, après que l'Internet et les services mobiles aient été fermés pendant plusieurs jours dans les états indiens du nord de Haryana et Punjab, le ministère des Communications a émis des directives et des instructions concernant le blocage des réseaux sociaux et Internet.
Sur la sécurité, Symantec a révélé avoir identifié une campagne d'espionnage cybernétique sur le Pakistan et l'Inde, ce qui devrait être une campagne parrainée par un État contre les deux pays suite à de problèmes de sécurité régionaux.
Sur la neutralité du net, Apple a publié une déclaration sur la neutralité du net proclamant une protection accrue de l'Internet.

SUMMARY

 

This week, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday condemned the recent white supremacist rally in the United States. By the way, he  stated : “The internet and social media are filled with hate speech and anti-Semitic imagery. And we hear on the streets of democratic societies the repeat of some of the most vile Nazi chants and charges..." In addition; Stormfront, the oldest neo-Nazi and white nationalist website on the English-speaking internet has been blocked.

On cyber geopolititics, India and the European Union stressed on the need to deepen deliberations on the applicability of international law to cyberspace and set norms of responsible behaviour of states during the fourth India-EU cyber dialogue in New Delhi on Tuesday. Furthermore; India and Japan have resolved to strengthen their collaboration in the field of cyberspace, and confirmed their commitment to an open, secure and accessible cyberspace, enabling economic growth and innovation,
On freedom of expression, according to the Cyberspace Administration of China, sites like social networks and discussion forums will have to verify the real identities of registered users before they can be allowed to post anything on their platforms. Furthemore, thousands of russians protested restrictions on the use of the Internet, news agencies reported. In India, after Internet and mobile services were shut down for several days in the northern Indian states of Haryana and Punjab, Ministry of Communications has issued directives and instructions pertaining to Internet shutdowns.
On security, Symantec has revealed that they have identified cyber spying campaign over Pakistan and India which is likely to be a state-sponsored campaign against both nations following regional security issues.
On Net neutrality,, Apple has released a powerful statement on net neutrality that says 'the internet is so important to be left unprotected'
