The Zambian GOVERNMENT has challenged the media to take a leading role in the fight against piracy and counterfeit products, and that the media should continue playing an active role in the fight against piracy and counterfeit products.

Government is concerned about the large volume of counterfeit products that are finding their way onto the Zambian market and that the media should help to fight the vice by reporting more about the negative effects it has on the Zambian economy.

Government will take appropriate administrative, policy and legal interventions aimed at the effective protection of intellectual property.(Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services permanent secretary Amos Malupenga)

Is the government making use of online channels too, by initiating, for example, online campaigns to raise awareness? How is it making use of the Internet?
