Hello... For some time, I have been thinking that there are some missing themes which could be discussed at IGF, in the critical resources arena, because they could offer great potential to change and progress to the Internet. For example, ENUM (e.164 number mapping), that have the potential to act as a catalyst to the technologic convergence between the telephone networks, and the Internet. ENUM is currently managed jointly by IAB and ITU, more as a telecommunications resource, than as an Internet resource. Its deployment at Internet is very slow, and have some problems.

After consulting some other people, and considering that the idea seems to make sense also to them, I and Raquel Gatto sent, yesterday, a written sugestion to the IGF secretariat, to be considered at the preparatory meetings to Vilnius.

The document can be read at: http://moreiras.eng.br/igf-contrib-moreiras-gatto-20100115.pdf .

We are open to comments and recommendations regarding the matter itself, the proper format and period to send this kind of sugestion.

Moreiras.
