Profile Information

Did you take the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme - IGCBP from DiploFoundation? If so, in which year? Who was tutoring you?
I am just taking the IGCBP (2009). Marília Maciel is tutoring the course.
Where did you ¨discover¨ this Community portal?
From a colleague that was already into this community.
What are you currently doing today and projects you have related to Internet governance?
I work for NIC.br, managing projects that aim to improve the quality of Internet in Brazil. The main projects include the dissemination of IPv6, the distribution of the Brazilian Legal Time by NTP protocol, quality measurements in the Brazilian Internet infra-structure, and studies on the Brazilian Web. I am also involved with Brazilian Internet Exchange Points (PTT Metro) and projects to the dissemination of VoIP.

I am an Electrical Engineer, and MSc in engineering. I have an MBA in Business Administration and I recently joined the doctorate program at Polytechnic School of University of São Paulo, researching the integration of sensor networks into the Internet (6LoWPAN, ZigBee, 802.15.4, ubiquitous computing, Internet of things).
In which ways the capacity building provided by Diplo has helped you and your community in Internet governance issues? (Question only for IGCBP Alumni)
I can say that Diplo capacity building is expanding my view regarding the past, present and future of the Internet. It has already contributed a lot in my daily work, since I have now a better understanding of the importance and consequences of our projets at NIC.br.

Could ENUM be discussed at IGF?

Hello... For some time, I have been thinking that there are some missing themes which could be discussed at IGF, in the critical resources arena, because they could offer great potential to change and progress to the Internet. For example, ENUM (e.164 number mapping), that have the potential to act as a catalyst to the technologic convergence between the telephone networks, and the Internet. ENUM is currently managed jointly by IAB and ITU, more as a telecommunications resource, than as an Inter… Continue
