IGCBP 2009 Group E -Asia , PriyanthiD
Where did you ¨discover¨ this Community portal?
Recommended by Seiiti Arata
What are you currently doing today and projects you have related to Internet governance?
I'm a web based text developer and basically I work for Institute for Field, Research and Expeditions (IFRE), a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization, based in United states
In which ways the capacity building provided by Diplo has helped you and your community in Internet governance issues? (Question only for IGCBP Alumni)
The course has literally cleared my vision about different issue like Internert Governance, privacy, security, IPR, global trend, e-payment, concept of internet its evolvement, copyright etc
Moreover, I had joined the course to learn and to the level my facilitator helped me to acquire that knowledge.
For me being in the IT sector I had a lot of confusion and had that dalmatic condition of unknowing the terms and condition but now after the course I'm more eased and comfortable.

Moving on with globalization and adapting the needs of standardization, internet has been adaptive and proactive in its more dynamic form. Transcending from the less resourceful application to the multi dimensional prospect of utilization and effectiveness, internet has been more expanding and progressing adapting the technology in most profound way. ICT development and its impact

The development of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) and internet in developing countries has both been rewarding and has suffered the consequences due to lack of proper management. The ICT and internet are the most essential part of 21st centaury as everything from business to money are adapted to the World Wide Web(WWW) where lack of ICT or internet knowledge means being stagnant or left out .
The present condition of developing nations are completely different as compared to the… Continue

To an extent it has adapted as a personalized and daily commodity which is more used on daily basis just like any other basic commodity. From the personal information to the financial information to the deep secrets in the form of emails are all stored in the form of strings and variable where the security lies at r… Continue

Privacy and Security in Internet

I believe privacy and security are two prominent issues of internet governance that has been contradicting each other due to globalization and commercialization. From its establishment in early 70s, the internet has been proactive in adapting different fields where its expansion has not only brought it into lime light but virtually has attracted a lot of externalities and irregularities.
Today, the internet is changing, what is new in a second can literally be out of date within minutes or hours… Continue
