Profile Information

Did you take the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme - IGCBP from DiploFoundation? If so, in which year? Who was tutoring you?
Just completed in May 2010 the online 3 months course and took part in the face to face Training in Ghana
Where did you ¨discover¨ this Community portal?
Via the diplofoundation website through GKPNET
What are you currently doing today and projects you have related to Internet governance?
Am, the Coordinator of the Gambia YMCA Computer Training Centre and Digital Studio located in the Gambia. I oversee also all the Gambia YMCA ICT policies especially using the Internet for our various advocacy programs and teaching kids save Internet usage. I also help schools develop good ICT policy within the Gambia. Am also presently the President of the INformation Technology Association of the Gambia and hope to enlighten my colleagues more on IG issues
In which ways the capacity building provided by Diplo has helped you and your community in Internet governance issues? (Question only for IGCBP Alumni)
Giving me the opportunity to take IG into schools, and having a clear structure of how to get young people to look at IG in general. This is very important to me, as within a developing country context it sometimes issues like these go unnoticed, it is important the young ones learn early as they are the digital natives of today's world.

Opening Up - "Net Neutrality and Society"

Why do we have to have access to all kind of content, sites or platforms? why is it that in certain cases be it in schools, work place certain access are restricted? Why is it we have to be culturally sensitive as responsible citizens of the digital world in what we publish in public domains?

I totally belief we are the best advocates… Continue
