Profile Information

Did you take the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme - IGCBP from DiploFoundation? If so, in which year? Who was tutoring you?
Marilia Maciel
What are you currently doing today and projects you have related to Internet governance?
I work at the City of Knowledge project, we will host a hub during the Hyderabad meeting. Next December, we will hold the IGF hub along with the Diplo alumni community at the University of São Paulo, so as to closely follow the developments of the IGF 2008. We want to make the most out of our "hub" condition, for both local and global presence.
In which ways the capacity building provided by Diplo has helped you and your community in Internet governance issues? (Question only for IGCBP Alumni)
As for my personal options, I am becoming more interested in internet governance. This has been a fantastic learning year, I am moving beyond my political science legacy and would really love to take more Diplo courses, especially the Development Diplomacy program. One way or another, Diplo makes me become clearly focused on internet governance as the most fundamental issue in the global order today. This can be a very important evolution after my Master of Arts program in Communication at University of São Paulo.

Hello Pedro, interesting profile and experience. I also share those feelings related to the increasing interest in the general IG topic during this learning moths with Diplo F. That is why i am applying now for a scholarship for the MSc ICT for Development Program in Manchester, UK. I guess this is the greatest fruit of the knowledge aquired this year.
