My background is in hospitality and telecommunication. I hold a bachelor in hotel management and information management and technology. I am certified in IP networking, data communication, and transmission and switching. I have over 10 years experience in international telecommunication working in tear 1,2 and 3 technical support, customer care, and service management teams for Vodafone, British telecom and Nortel networks. Furthermore I have worked as business developer in Africa for Somera communications.



Until 2008 we mainly focused on the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector development and telecommunications project equity funding working with the Egyptian and South African BPO sector and assisting various private equity companies in sourcing ICT projects in Africa.

In 2008 won a framework contract with NL Agency, a department of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs that implements government policy for sustainability, innovation, and international business and cooperation for development, to carry out the MMF (match making facility) on behalf of the Dutch ministry of cooperation development, assisting ICT SME’s in emerging markets to develop partnerships with Dutch private companies. We are currently the only independent MMF consultancy with a specialism in ICT working for and with NL Agency

NL Agency offers unique programs for private sector, private public partnerships and infrastructure development. However many of these programs are focused on traditional “aid” We identified an niche and decided in 2009 to solely focus on ICT for development assisting African private sector, NGO’s and government in accessing partnerships, programs and funding available in Europe. We have since than have successfully assisted in funding applications the PSI (private sector investment) program from the Dutch ministry of cooperation development, resulting in a 750,000 euro grant for a broadband wireless project in Benin and currently a medical ICT project under application for Burundi.

But for us that is just the beginning, our aim is to build capacity in our organization in order to further enable us to assist companies, government NGO’s and donors in developing Internet governance strategies, policies and fund sustainable ICT projects in Africa. I hope the IGCBP program and especially my fellow students help me strengthen my knowledge and provide me with the right tools to make that happen.
