Profile Information

Did you take the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme - IGCBP from DiploFoundation? If so, in which year? Who was tutoring you?
2008, Seiiti and Andrei
What are you currently doing today and projects you have related to Internet governance?
um a council member of Botswana Information Technology Society and we currently working on a programme to train the members of parliament of issues related to Internet and IG issues, they will be discussing the media bill, copyrights and cybercrime & computer related crimes at the next parlimentary meeting and we want them to be in position to debate the issues with some background knowledge. we also training community on introduction to computers & internet and will be incorporating IG as part of training.
In which ways the capacity building provided by Diplo has helped you and your community in Internet governance issues? (Question only for IGCBP Alumni)
being from a technical background, i would say the course really helped me see the internet from a different perspective, as with us we always thinking of a technical solution while that may not be the only option. i had previously viewed IG as a policy issue but now i have a better understanding of the issues

How far have you gone with the training of the parliamentarians. It will be interesting to see the progress to date.
