Profile Information

Did you take the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme - IGCBP from DiploFoundation? If so, in which year? Who was tutoring you?
I took the course in 2008, I am lucky for having Ginger Paque was my tutor in the first phase :-)
Where did you ¨discover¨ this Community portal?
By Diplo fellows.
What are you currently doing today and projects you have related to Internet governance?
Currently I am a associated researcher of EMERGE-Research and Project Center for Communication and Emergence/Fluminense Federal University. We are now starting a new phase which include research publications and the launch of a website on communications and information society, which one I am in charge of Internet Governance theme.

I am also doing a PhD in social studies. The subject of my research is not directly connected to IG main issues, however the theoretical aspects of governance, democracy, freedom of expression and gender issues have a close relation to my previous work in the information society field what brought me to the IG process.

Besides, I have reconnected to the eLAC 2010 activities as member of the Working Group on Gender. As independent consultant I am also conducting as well as collaborating with researches that explore the connections between the "classical" feminist agenda and information society issues, with special focus on freedom of expression and online content regulation.
In which ways the capacity building provided by Diplo has helped you and your community in Internet governance issues? (Question only for IGCBP Alumni)
I have improved a lot my skills on different issues related to internet governance. The first positive result was also the improvement in both academic and non-academic research work I develop currently.
Please list the names of organizations you are a member of, including hyperlinks for more information when possible.
* EMERGE- Communication and Emergence Research Center/Uff, Brazil
