Profile Information

Did you take the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme - IGCBP from DiploFoundation? If so, in which year? Who was tutoring you?
Yes 2010, Emmanuel Edet
Where did you ¨discover¨ this Community portal?
was invited by the tutor
What are you currently doing today and projects you have related to Internet governance?
I am Civil Servant with Ministry of Information and Communications, Nigeria. I am presently saddled with the responsiibility over seeing the implementing Government stragies and policies in regards Universal Access as it affects ICT. We are present undertaking Rural communications in 218 sites in Nigeria with internet services to schools and health centers.
In which ways the capacity building provided by Diplo has helped you and your community in Internet governance issues? (Question only for IGCBP Alumni)
The experience which I have gathered during the course will further harness the development services, the Internet has to offer. This has to come as awareness to the people and how their privacy can be protected on the internet. Infrastructure should be made affordable to the people to enhance access as well as the inclusiveness of the Internet.
