For me the most memorable event of 2009 was the Diplo Workshop on Net Neutrality. It was a personal milestone for me. I got the opportunity to sit beside some of the "titans" of the industry and to discuss issues which are dear to Diplo as far as In…

MAPPING THE ISSUES: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE COMMONWEALTH INTERNET GOVERNANCE FORUM

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is convened under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the United Nations as a multi-stakeholder policy dialogue on the Internet. The mandate of the IGF is primarily contained in Paragraph 72 of the Tunis Agenda. The mandate includes discussion on policy issues related to the Internet governance in order to foster the sustainability, robustness, security, stability and development of the Internet; facilitate discourse on issues that do not fall within the… Continue

The Management of the Internet

During the recently concluded IGF I had an opportunity to participate in a debate regarding the merger of ICANN and the ITU to form one regulator for the Internet. Well my team lost the debate but I have decided to make my true position known on the issues regarding the control of the Internet.

From its origins as inter connected networks, the Internet has developed rapidly into a worldwide tool for delivery of virtually anything that can be imagined. Thus far, the Internet has developed more o… Continue

Hi Emmanuel,
I can see Seiiti included gender on the profiles so no mistakes even if a photo is not included :-)

On a serious note, I am trying to come up with a write-up on the IGF-S experience, would you be interested?

Hi Emmanuel - thanks for volunteering for the collaboration on the design for the strategy for IGF. May I ask you to join the Power! group? That will be very important for our work together. Thanks!

Hi Emmanuel - I see you posted in the IGCBP-Talk a message about youth initiatives. I am very interested to see you, Rose, or anyone of this interesting initiative to create a Group in this platform to centralize and foster this discussion.

Rose, who has been acting as a focal point, has not yet created her profile after my invitation but I imagine she will do it soon. In the meantime, if you agree, you may create the Group and keep the ball rolling together with her and the group. What do you say?

It would be an interesting challenge for you (and a learning experience for me) to see how you guys would have the interaction in the ning platform. If you can do it this week, the better, because I am compiling information about the advantages of the ning platform and would like to use this data as a success story.
