I am an Afro-centric and award winning multi-disciplinary ICT professional, with a background that includes experience working in: digital inclusion, ICT policy, citizen journalism, sustainable development, Internet governance, and e-Learning.
I hold a diploma and a BSc. IT (Hons) degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT).
I am also an inWent fellow, DiploFoundation alumni, and ICANN49 Fellow.
My interests are: Internet & Governance, Technology & Innovation, Policy & Research,Arts & Media, Environment & Urbanization

I now comprehend better the concepts of IG and IG policy making/multi-stakeholders involved, E-participation approaches. I am also actively involved in IG meetings and capacity building programmes at both local and international levels.

Internet Fragmentation; The Newest Threat to the Internet?

 

The open and unified Internet we enjoy today started as a US government project in the late 1960’s.

The US government sponsored the development of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency Network (DARPA Net), a resilient communication resource.

Following the invention of TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) in the mid-1970’s, this network evolved into what is referred to today as the Internet.

With time, this thing we call Internet has transformed…
