Profile Information

Did you take the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme - IGCBP from DiploFoundation? If so, in which year? Who was tutoring you?
March to May 2009, My tutor is Mwende Njiriane
Where did you ¨discover¨ this Community portal?
I discovered the IG course from a Ugandan mailing list namely: www.inetwork.or.ug
What are you currently doing today and projects you have related to Internet governance?
I am completing my PhD research in 2009 on a topic: "Gender Relations and Adoption of ICT in Contemporary Uganda: A Case of Computing and Mobile Telephony." I have been working in Makerere University, Department of Women and Gender Studies, as a Lecturer and Coordinator of the ICT Programme, which also includes a CISCO Networking Academy that focuses on training at least 70% females. With colleagues, I founded "Mount Masaba High School" in 2000 which currently has an enrolment of 1,000 students, where am also a director in charge of ICT and I oversee another CISCO academy..

I am passionate about ICT policy, adoption and its impact on society and particularly on gender relations where I have a growing list of publications.

I am currently actively enganged in the on-going Internet Governance Debate in Uganda.

My gender lenses were glued on that day. The exercise is for ever cemented in my eyes.
