Comment by Carlton Anthony Samuels on January 17, 2013 at 7:12pm I have been working for quite awhile in support of the open-ness principle across several domains; Open Access, Open Institutional Repositories, Open Science, Open Educational Resources, FOSS. Aaron Swartz was only 26 years-old. But in my humble opinion, his commitment and heart was in the right place. RIP, Aaron.
Comment by Wolf Ludwig on January 17, 2013 at 5:55pm The sudden passing away of Aaron Swartz was a big shock to me. Aaron was such a brilliant fellow who dedicated his far too short life to open access, CC and the PD. I share the sorrow expressed by Tim Berners-Lee (timbl): „Aaron is dead. Wanderers in this crazy world, we have lost a mentor, a wise elder. Hackers for right, we are one down, we have lost one of our own. Nurtures, careers, listeners, feeders, parents all, we have lost a child. Let us all weep.”
