Comment by Mwende Njiraini on July 17, 2011 at 9:15pm Keisha, the Kenya Government Open data portal launched on 8th July 2011 is up and running.
The goal of the Portal is to make core government development, demographic, statistical and expenditure data available in a useful digital format for researchers, policymakers, ICT developers and the general public.

Comment by Keisha Taylor on February 8, 2011 at 12:29am Hi everyone, I have started this group because my research policy proposal is directly related to the use of data for development. I am also looking to include case studies which highlight how open access to data is important for development. Please see the call for proposal below for those who are interested.
Call for proposals: Open access advocacy campaigns
The EIFL-OA programme invites proposals for organising national or institutional open access advocacy campaigns to reach out to research communities. They particularly wish to involve scholarly and scientific researchers, universities and colleges, and university presses and society publishers.
