Thank you Keisha for posting the message from Web Foundation and IDRC. Very useful for researchers in developing countries. Thanks
I want to share this call for proposals with anyone working on open data in their countries. The Web Foundation and International Development Research Centre are inviting research proposals that address current gaps in the evidence base underlying the implementation of open data initiatives, and to inform policy and practice in a range of different settings. Very god that there is significant investment in this type of research. The closing date for the call is 10th September 2012 http://www.opendataresearch.org/post/26975988175/call
The very first Caribbean Open Data conference is happening this month. It promises to be pretty exciting. Unfortunately I can't be there! It is happening in the Dominican Republic, Jamaicia and Trinidad and Tobago all at the same time (26-27 January 2012) and it includes 24 consecutive hours of coding. However, it will all be streamed live so you can watch it online. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds! http://developingcaribbean.org/what-2/
