Yes, moblie seems to be the present and future of everything in Kenya. At KENIC IGF, it was apparent that many big comapnies such as Google, Nokia, Samsung etc are setting shop here to tap this ready market....Lets hope this comes with many jobs for locals and better quality of life. Looking forward to meeting you too! And have you joined ISOC-KE (under construction)

Hey Grace and All,

@Paul you are very right about the penetration and usage of mobile financials in Kenya. It's amazing how broadband internet has changed the face of communication in the country in the last 3 years or so! Mobile money innovations have created new jobs that were not even thought of 6 years ago not to mention the innovations that have come with that. I'm sure the ISOC_KE chapter formation will receive mention in this years IGF which I view as a very positive development prior to the IGF in Nairobi. As Kenya positions it self as a regional ICT hub it only makes sense to have a body that has international roots be active in the ICT community... Possibly one of the mandates would be to ensure Access For All... Looking forward to the IGF and meeting you all.

We closed the workshop last night IGF Central Africa in Brazzaville. It was very rich qualitatively and participatory. There was a very active participation of young students in accordance with the gender.
