Elevator Challenge!
The Caribbean should pursue a cohesive Small Island Developing State (SIDS) IG position collaboratively with our colleagues in the Pacific region. SIDS share several commonalities including inter alia: (1) colonial heritage (2) Weak ICT infrastructure (3) Environmental Challenges (4) economic challenges.
A unified IG position will bring strength in numbers, strength of purpose and a collective will.
There are many more similarities between the Caribbean and Pacific Islands positions on IG and ICT Policies and Strategies than there are with Latin America.
While the Caribbean can still (and should) participate multi-laterally with Latin America, the synergies that the SIDS possess can potentially strengthen and solidify the Caribbean position in LAC, and indeed the global space ... as it also may do for the Pacific region in Australasia.
A united SIDS force (52 countries, 48 million people) ... the possibilities are endless!
